Pardon me if I'm wrong, but this has gotta be another coup for online poker. We seem to be on a roll lately. Have you heard about this? Yahoo has launched real money poker. They have had a play money poker game for the many thousands of Yahoo! members who play the various free games, but this is a huge step to go from freebie games for fun to plunking real money down on the tables.
Yahoo! Poker will be marketed to the millions of Yahoo members around the world, I'm sure and with their already famous brand, there will already be a degree of trust and confidence. A general public that might have considered online gaming to be mainly the realm of shady operators, will see it thrust directly into the light.
There is nothing shady about Yahoo, and in fact there was really nothing shady about your online poker industry these past few years. Just businesses looking to make a buck in the entertainment field.
Yahoo real money poker is not open to USA members yet. It should only be a matter of time though. We Yanks love freedom, and the ability to play poker at our desk in our underwear is a right that should not be infringed upon!
